Surgery
Every surgical procedure is a very different experience from the next one. But what they do all have in common is the fact that it is a very traumatic and emotional experience regardless of the "size" of the procedure. We will try to make the experience as easy as possible and what helps is to have an idea of what to expect.
Hospital Admissions
We work in association with Mediclinic Plettenberg Bay, being their smallest private hospital and the so-called "baby" of the Mediclinic group. The small and personal nature of the hospital makes for a very enjoyable experience with excellent, individualized care and personal attention.
Gastroscopy
Gastroscopy is a type of endoscopy whereby a special scope, or camera, is advanced down the oesophagus and into the stomach and duodenum in order to visually examine the lining of these structures and also to detect any abnormalities.
Colonoscopy
A colonoscopy is a procedure whereby a camera is inserted through the anus and extended through the rectum and colon (large bowel). This is done in order to physically view the inside surface of the bowel. There are various reasons why we perform this procedure.
Minor Procedures
We refer to minor procedures as any procedure done in the office. Most of these are done to establish or confirm a diagnosis, but certain conditions can also be treated with minimal patient discomfort.
